Dr. Roger Bueno
OTD, OTR/L

Dr. Roger Bueno is an occupational therapist specializing in pediatrics with clinical interests in Ayres Sensory Integration®, pediatric visual impairment, and helping children develop the skills needed to participate confidently in everyday life. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology and a minor in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, before completing his Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree at Keck Graduate Institute.

His doctoral capstone focused on enhancing occupational therapists' understanding of pediatric visual impairment to promote earlier identification and referral to specialized vision services. Roger is passionate about partnering with families and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to help children with complex developmental needs reach their fullest potential.

Guided by the principles of Ayres Sensory Integration®, Roger enjoys creating engaging, individualized interventions that promote confidence, independence, and meaningful participation across home, school, and community environments. His experiences advocating for students with disabilities in higher education, along with volunteering as a coach for adapted sports, have strengthened his passion for inclusion, successful transitions into adulthood, and lifelong participation.

Roger is known for his calm, playful, and encouraging approach and enjoys helping children discover new strengths through movement, play, and meaningful occupations.

Outside of work, Roger enjoys playing the piano, spending time with family and friends, and being near the ocean or any body of water, where he finds the rhythm, sounds, and movement of the water especially peaceful and restorative.
