Amy Ukleja
Amy Ukleja loves living at the edge of discovery—finding each child’s just right challenge, seeing the light in their eyes when they connect to their bodies and their environments in unique and deeply needed ways or a parent’s nod of new understanding when the puzzle of a sensory struggle is finally solved. With firsthand experience as a child and now a parent of children with sensory integration and processing difficulties,
Amy is passionate about helping families better understand their child’s underlying needs and how to meet those needs at home or in the community. She earned her Masters of OT at Loma Linda University and spent her first seven years of practice helping develop innovative Occupational Therapy programs in community based mental health, where she was deeply shaped by the principle that change happens best through relationship. In 2015, she completed a 3-month intensive advanced training in Ayres Sensory Integration through USC/WPS and is certified to complete the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) and Evaluation of Ayres Sensory Integration (EASI).
In her spare time, you might find Amy exploring in the trees, playing in parks or at the beach, writing in tea shops, or cooking up yummy new creations to share at home.
